A Room with a View

In terms of unique hotels, Treehotel might be the most unusual one I've seen yet.  If you're looking to get in touch with nature, or have always wanted to spend a night up in the trees, a quick trip to Sweden (Harads, specifically, 60km south of the Arctic Circle), and you're all set.

The goal of this project was to allow people to be in the midst of nature without demolishing forests.  Each tree room is uniquely designed, and the management focuses on running operations as sustainably as possible.

And in case you're worried about birds flying into the glass cube, they incorporated a special infrared film (visible to birds only) into the glass.  See, they thought of everything!
